Site = 1418 sqm, Floor Area = 490 sqm

Construction:
Concrete slab on ground, timber floors on upper / mezzanine level, brick masonry walls, Colourbond skillion roof

Construction Budget:
$TBA

Status:
DA approved and currently in under construction 2010 / 2011

Brief:
This existing two storey weatherboard house is located on a diamond-shaped block immersed in bushland with many rock outcrops and trees. The brief required the home to be completely demolished to create a much larger architecturally designed, three storey home, which better suited the unique block and captured the sun.

Solution:
The proposed concept presents a large but well proportioned 3 storey, four bedroom family home intergrated into the surroundings with the use of natural finishes of timber, brick and stone, and considers bush fire risk design principles.

The large open plan spaces take advantage of the extensive, north-facing bush views with glass stacking doors opening out to the upper level terraces and the patio on ground level.

Visual connections between the living space and upper mezzanine children's bedroom area have been created with high raked ceilings and glass balustrading.

This concept is currently in the design development stage and progressing towards a Development Application submission.
