Brief:
The work for this project concentrated on the entire rear yard of a large block in Lindfield. The client required a new pool pavillion with storage, and a covered outdoor area for entertaining and relaxing in a style that would compliment the existing c.1909 home.
Solution:
This completed design involved demolishing the existing pool room, which was very dated and in need of repair. The sloping yard was levelled with the use of terraces, which allowed access to the cabana from the same level as the existing pool. The pool deck was extended and crazy paved in Himilayan Sandstone finish. Rain water tanks were installed to allow water to be collected from the pool pavillion to service the new vegetable gardens and to top up the pool water. Frameless glass balustrading was specified for the front of the pool area to allow uninterrupted views from the main house, with the remainder fencing in a stainless finish. The completed, traditional styled cabana incorporated a pool filter room, workshop, a changing room and small kitchenette with a large covered area with bench seating. Quality finishes and detailing has made this new pool pavillion a real feature of the home.
