The existing building however, consisted of very dark and compartmentalised spaces with limited connections and access to the front garden and rear pool areas. The clients were also experiencing discomfort during summer and winter months with the lack of cross ventilation and light though most areas.
The existing house was to be completely demolished and redesigned to take maximum advantage of the sites many favourable aspects. The new two storey house incorporated a master room with ensuite, two bedrooms, study, rumpus complete with gym area and open plan living spaces, with improved connections to outdoor living areas.
The final design is a substantial family home, which takes advantage of all the site's best characteristics to create open and light spaces that are warm in winter and cool in summer.
