Architect's concept design - Corner View
The brief involved demolition of an existing rear addition and terrace. Then the addition of a new rear garage, rear kitchen and porch addition with new terrace.
The addition was to really improve the size and flow of living areas to the upper level. The house is period but not heritage listed. The streetscape is heritage listed (not simply conservation).
The proposal maximises the amount of build area on the site to achieve the large more traditionally size living areas. The house also has a change of colour scheme - one of the real benefits of 3D design.
The concept had to match and enhance the character of the existing building and fit within the heritage streetscape concept.
DA approved by Manly council in 12 weeks.
