Concept facade from driveway
The rear of the property was large, flat and under-developed except for an existing swimming pool. The brief involved the design of a new four level, substantial and modern home, which reflected assymetric and industrial forms.
The proposed concept design creates a full flow through, front to back series of living spaces and a new kitchen. North facing clerestory windows provide sunlight and cross ventilation for the two large bedrooms, and a new driveway design has allowed for secure basement carparking reducing the overall width on this narrow site. The staircase has been enclosed within a cylinder shape, which is reflected in the exterior along with concrete and stone finishes, giving the home a very industrial and robust look.
