Fulfilling a dream …

I found myself sitting at the dining table of a little red brick cottage, sharing my clients dream of a Georgian style home in roman bricks. In the end my clients found solid limestone blocks offered better window reveals and mouldings.

I realised we needed to hide garage under the house to avoid it spoiling a classic facade. The slope of the street helped us and we even created a large games room basement as well.

Another key to the design was to a traditional looking pitched roof without exceeding the height restrictions. Our design achieves this by hiding a flat roof to the rear, which also provides the perfect eave for sun shading to the north and passive solar design.

Has more romance than a season of Bridgerton ...
