Hay House - Queenscliff, Sold
We bought the block and the design ...

The initial brief involved demolishing the existing small, red brick cottage and creating a new contemporary home, which takes advantage of the northerly aspect to the front and utilises the unique but difficult site topography.

The back of the block presented a two storey cliff creating difficult and unusable space. Substantial excavation was involved to reclaim this unavailing site and create a spacious and modern, terraced home. Council controls were used to an advantage and a roof terrace was fashioned by aligning it with the upper cliff level, which created a fantastic entertaining and pool area with ocean views, making use of this once detached back yard.

The design secured DA approval at which time the client located another site to develop alternatively through All Australian Architecture. The new owners however, loved the design and proceeded to build the design with just a minimum of changes.

Working with Adam's team was great. He listened to our needs and was able to tweak the existing design to better suit our needs - which changed as the build was underway and never was a problem.
