Cliff House
The brief
A home that lives on the edge.
Perched above the Seaforth escarpment, this home was designed to make the most of its dramatic elevated setting. The brief called for a contemporary family home where every principal living space connects to the views and the landscape below.
The interior design follows the same philosophy — refined materials, considered proportions, and a palette that references the natural setting rather than competing with it. The result is a home that feels both bold and calm.
From the double-height dining room to the mezzanine living level and private bedroom wing, every space is resolved with the same attention to detail and quality of light.
The design thinking
Materiality over drama.
The site demands attention — an escarpment setting with views across Middle Harbour. The design response was deliberate restraint. Rather than a building that shouts, the architecture creates a calm, considered backdrop for a life lived with those views always present.
Warm timbers, stone surfaces and carefully controlled natural light draw the eye inward as much as outward. Every room is resolved — there are no afterthoughts here.
