Brief
The site faces north to the front and slopes substantially down from the street to the rear. There is currently an old single storey home with no parking.
My clients wanted a weatherboard style beach house with level access from the street and parking.
Response
We started by providing level street access to a new double carport, with a butterfly roof. Joined to this is a two-storey home that keeps a slim footprint, collects the north sun, catches the cooling southerly breezes and gives the home more prominence to the street.
The living areas are open and flowing, and every bedroom gets north sun and cross ventilation to go with the district views.
