The existing 3 bedroom home located on an elevated site surrounded by north-facing ocean views required a much needed review of the internal layout making it an upside down house with the living areas at the top and bedrooms on the lower level. The refreshed interior featured a relocated entry to the top level and opened up the living areas to the distant views to the water.
Seaview House Waverly - Completed New Kitchen
Brick veneer, raised timber floors, vergola roof
This existing three bedroom home located on an elevated site and offering distant, north-facing ocean views required an entirely new and contemporary look to the upper living areas.
The works included revising the living spaces and internal stair access, and relocating the lower level entry to the upper level, which would allow a better transition into the main living areas.
The key to this renovation was the relocated entry and better placement of the kitchen, which created simplified, crisp and modern spaces.
The refreshed interior featured a revised staircase with frameless glass, a new raised timber floor and modern kitchen completing the upgrade of the internal living spaces. The new level entry allowed for a spacious foyer and additional powder room, which flowed into the revived interior.
The indoor and outdoor flow was improved dramatically by incorporating new bi-fold doors, which opened out the living and dining rooms onto the existing terrace. A Vergola, adjustable louvered roof was added to create a flexible outdoor living space, which could modulate and control the amount of sunlight to the terrace.
The final result is a substantial and open living area with improved flow and access throughout, and a refreshed and crisp interior finish.
